How To Qualify Your Film For The Oscars In Fort Worth Texas
Now that my short doc’s festival run has wrapped up, I’ve had time to reflect on the journey. Two years ago, when I first approached Rebekah, I had a completed film—but absolutely no idea where to begin with a festival strategy. I knew I needed a plan, but I had no clue what that should look like or where to start.
However she didn’t just point me in the right direction—she was able to tailor a strategy that ensured my film reached the most suitable festivals and audiences. Of course, at the end of the day, your work determines whether you win or lose, but without her expertise, I would have wasted time, energy, and money on all the wrong festivals—and maybe never won anything at all!
You don’t know what you don’t know, and Rebekah brought up insights during our consultation that I hadn’t even considered—insights that ultimately made all the difference.
The results? 22 festival selections worldwide, 3 awards, a distribution agreement, coverage in the local newspaper, and even a congratulatory motion from the Scottish Government! None of this would have been possible without the visibility those festival selections provided.
If you have a short or feature film you want to take to festivals but aren’t sure where to start, I highly recommend Rebekah. She’s fantastic to work with, super responsive, and truly knows her stuff! Thanks again Rebekah.Sam Watkins
