About the Film
A loving family set off in their car on what seems like a carefree family outing. As Mandy drives, they sing along to a favourite song, stop for ice- creams and play eye-spy. However, it gradually becomes clear that this isn’t a family outing after all, and that their destination isn’t a happy one. In fact, their destination is the house of a man, due to buy their car, and only once the car has stopped does the actuality of the narrative fully manifest.

Clients Goals: In addition to screening and winning awards at as many festivals as possible, the SYLVIA creative team had 2 firm goals in mind which were for the film to be eligible to qualify to submit for the BAFTA awards and the Oscars.

SYLVIA was BAFTA long listed and after winning the Manhattan Short Film Festivals Gold top prize qualified for Oscar consideration. Winner of 17 awards so far, SYLVIA has been travelling the international festival circuit since the end of 2018 to huge critical acclaim. It screened at over 10 festivals including the BIFA and BAFTA qualifying Norwich Film Festival & the BAFTA qualifying Foyle Film Festival. It screened in competition at the Oscar Qualifying Palm Springs Shorts Fest and the Oscar & BAFTA Qualifying Flickers Rhode Island International Film Festival.
